What makes a good story, is not so much the content of the story but the way the the story is told.
You could have someone tell their story of climbing Mount Everest, defying death itself, and be bored to tears the entire time. On the other hand, you could listen to someone describe the experience they had installing a toilet in their house and thoroughly enjoy every minute of it, wishing to listen to it over again just to hear the person describing the hilarious moments they went through as they attempted the feat. So where's the difference? It's simple: a good storyteller simply knows the art of telling a story. |
Author Bio: Bill Haber is an elementary school principal in the Waterloo Region, in Ontario. He lives with his wife Lisa, and their three children, Kelsea, William and Gregory, in the small and tranquil community of Paradise Lake, Ontario. Dock Talk: A Unique Perspective on an Ordinary Life is his first published work. He has also written and directed four plays that have been performed by students he has taught, and has written several songs and performed them on his guitar. Bill is also an avid carpenter who enjoys building everything from small crafted trinkets to large structures. The cornerstone of all Bill's work is his belief that creativity and originality are key elements in a full and happy life. |
