| The need for this book arose in the early 1990's as missionaries began to consider what was then called "Chronological Bible Storying." The imperative for training materials expanded as more and more evangelists began using the method of storying. This book has developed as these "prepared on the field" materials were gathered and refined. Basic Bible Storying goes beyond the basics of answering the questions: "Which stories do I tell?" "How do I prepare the stories for telling?" "How do I begin telling the stories?" These pages point toward the many new opportunities for sharing Bible stories in evangelistic and ministry strategies and the means by which Bible Storyers can meet these opportunities. |

Author Bio: J.O. Terry served under the International Mission Board of the Philippines in 1968 and then as the Asian-Pacific Region media consultant until 2003. At the invitation of Dr. Jim Slack, J.O. Terry contributed to the development of Chronological Bible Storying. Terry has led workshops and conferences in 35 countries, numerous Bible Schools, Universities, and Seminaries. In addition to writing Basic Bible Storying, J.O. Terry serves as publisher if the Bible Story Newsletter and the Journal for Bible Storying. He continues to teach Bible Storying and shares his experience with Bible Storyers in many parts of the world.
